Community of Science
- A vast database offering information on funding opportunities, expertise, patent information, and many other services.
- Offers a researcher the ability to set parameters for up to five saved search topics tailored to the researcher’s own specific needs and research discipline.
- Provides a weekly email funding alert based on grants located by the researcher’s search topics.
InfoEd
- Another large international database offering a variety of funding opportunity services in a different format and using a different set of keywords from COS.
- To use: Click on the Access Info Office logo on the homepage, then on SPIN.
- To conduct a Quick Search, simply type in a keyword in the Quick Search field on the left and then click on Search.
- To set up a profile that will generate regular email alerts about your specific interests, click on GENIUS/SMARTS. Select Create a New Profile. Complete the forms; then complete General, Keywords, Applicant Type, and Geographical Restrictions fields. Important: In Locations Tenable, select all regional designations that apply and also select North Carolina.
- To conduct an Advanced Search, click on the Advanced Search link underneath the Quick Search column.
